Why Does the US Visa Scheduling Portal Show No Available Slots?

What an empty calendar means

The scheduling system only shows dates the US Mission in India has released for your visa class and city. When every released date is booked, the calendar is empty. This is the normal state for high-demand categories at busy posts, not a fault with your account.

Where new dates come from

• The Mission releases new capacity, often without advance notice.
• Other applicants cancel, miss or reschedule their appointments, which frees their dates.
• Dates can also change when a post adjusts its operations — for example, H-1B and H-4 interviews in India were rescheduled by the Mission in late 2025 after enhanced online-presence vetting began.

What you can do

• Consider all five consulate cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata); your OFC and interview can be in different cities.
• Keep your DS-160 confirmation, MRV fee receipt and account details ready so you can book the moment a date appears.
• Remember the one-free-reschedule rule before moving an appointment you already have.
• If you have a genuine emergency, use the official expedited-appointment request after booking the earliest regular date.

What does not work

Booking in a country where you are not a national or resident is generally no longer accepted, and the fee paid there is not refunded. Tools or services that claim to bypass CAPTCHAs or the portal's limits break the portal's terms and can put your application at risk.
